Terms of Service
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using Invoice Journey ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.
2. Description of service
Invoice Journey is an online platform that helps businesses create invoices, track payment status, send reminders, manage clients, and analyze collections. Features may vary by subscription plan. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to bind your business to these Terms.
4. Your content and invoices
You retain ownership of invoices, client data, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant Invoice Journey a limited license to host, process, and display User Content solely to provide the Service, including sending invoices and notifications on your behalf.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of invoices, tax calculations, payment terms, and compliance with applicable laws. Invoice Journey does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis unless cancelled. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Downgrading or cancelling may limit access to features or data associated with higher-tier plans.
Each plan has the usage limits and capabilities shown before purchase and in Plan & billing. Reaching a limit stops additional use of that capability; it does not delete existing invoices or conversations. Available limits and charges are shown in the checkout flow before you authorize a subscription change.
Your invoice allowance and reset period are the ones shown for your workspace in Plan & billing. Workspaces on the monthly allowance use UTC calendar months; workspaces moved to the weekly allowance use the business's local Monday-to-Monday week. An outgoing invoice counts once when its first send is claimed. Drafts, received invoices, quotes, reminders, and later revisions do not use another slot. A sending or unconfirmed first send reserves a slot until its outcome can be safely resolved. Client limits count active client records. Manually requested AI reminder drafts use a separate monthly allowance only when an AI draft is successfully prepared; an unavailable-AI fallback template does not consume it. Usage and applicable limits are shown in Plan & billing. Existing plan-specific rights may remain in place until you voluntarily change your plan; review the limits presented before confirming a plan change.
5A. AI assistance and automated follow-ups
AI-generated drafts and payment insights are suggestions, not statements that a payment was received or that a customer agreed to new terms. Review invoice facts, recipients and messages before acting on them. Automated follow-ups require an eligible plan and your explicit settings; you remain responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of communications sent on your business's behalf. Payment disputes, corrected amounts and settlement decisions require human review. Ordinary invoice conversations and manual email reminders remain available without AI automation. A manually requested AI draft never sends a message by itself; you can review, edit, or discard it before separately confirming an email reminder. Automated follow-ups and automated replies require an eligible plan and explicit setup. SMS reminders are not offered as part of the current Service.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or harassing purposes
- Send spam or unauthorized communications through the platform
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without permission
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Upload malware or content that infringes third-party rights
7. Third-party services
Manual client communication is available without an invoice or an AI subscription where email routing is enabled. You must review the recipient, send only authorized business correspondence and respect contact preferences and opt-outs. Do not use client messaging for unsolicited bulk marketing. Delivery is not guaranteed, and a delivered email is not evidence of agreement or payment.
The Service may integrate with email providers, payment processors, and other third parties. Your use of those services is subject to their terms. Invoice Journey is not responsible for third-party products or services.
Payment methods and external links are supplied by the invoice issuer. Confirm the intended payee and destination before paying. Opening a link does not transfer money or confirm payment in Invoice Journey.
8. Intellectual property
Invoice Journey and its branding, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or proprietary materials except as needed to use the Service.
PayPal, Venmo, Stripe, Cash App, Zelle, Instagram, TikTok and other third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. References identify payment or social-profile options and do not imply sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation. Generic bank, card and wallet icons are not provider logos. These Terms do not grant a license to third-party marks.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, though certain provisions survive.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INVOICE JOURNEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
